Happy New Year. 2020 left a lot of loose ends. I guess we'll find out if 2021 deals with them.
We're currently working on preparing to publish two new books by Alexandra A. Cheshire this year. More on that two posts back. It would be amazing to bring on new authors this year. We are open for submissions - just follow the simple directions on the Contact Us page. Goodreads.com offers an annual reading challenge. Lexa has her goal set, which should be viewable on her author page. Do you? Happy reading and here's to a better year all around. The darkest part of the year is upon us and so is the parade of holidays from mid December through early January. So...
If you're thinking of giving the gift of books (since reading is a wonderful way to pass the time), all of ours are available via most ebook retailers and in print on Amazon. Our homepage on this site has links to all of them. We will be closed from December 19, 2020 until January 4, 2021 August
Lexa Cheshire returns to the colony world of Cemen with Arawn's New Order: President Donovan Gayre achieved a major political victory when Angelita, Crown Princess of Estorika, handed over her birthright and acknowledged his government. But the new Republic of Arawn remains a devastated land, barely able to support its citizens. There is hope for the land itself in the work of one young scientist and Donovan Gayre has been planning big changes behind the scenes for years. Provided the newly recognized government can maintain the ground they've gained thus far. November Lexa Cheshire introduces readers to a new colony world with The Queen of la Grotte: When his own daughter proved imperfect, scientist Docteur Sebastien set out to create the perfect girl. His daughter was left a pale shadow to the perfection of her father's creations. But what is perfect to one isn't necessarily to another. Self made mercenary Andre had made a deal to obtain one of Docteur Sebastien's perfect girls, but discovers a preference for the original. Docteur Sebastien is only too happy to make the trade. When the Premier of La Grotte dies, Docteur Sebastien's creations become increasingly in demand as various forces strive to obtain the coveted position. Andre doesn't want power and yet finds himself drawn into the struggle for it. In his effort to survive will having the original girl on his side help or hinder? And who is really the better... the daughter or the perfected copies? Spellbook of Memory by Alexandra A. Cheshire is set for release November 30, 2020, for anyone who enjoys slightly more modern fantasy or knows someone who does.
Of the above images, the one on the left is the paperback cover, which was intended to be the official first edition cover period. Except the image quality is too poor for Smashwords standards, so the image on the right is the ebook cover. (Although not on Goodreads, just to confuse everything.) .Once again, it's been far too long since we posted an update.
First of all: Lexa has a new book out this year. Colony Zero is scheduled for release this coming August (2020). Pre-orders will be available towards the end of June for those interested. This could prove an interesting exercise as we were using Createspace for our paperback printing. When Createspace went out of business, our books were kicked over to Kindle Direct Publishing, which is how paperback versions continue to be available over Amazon (.com, .ca, .uk, .eu). Colony Zero will be the first book published in print through KDP, so we shall see how this goes. As much as we like print on demand, we will be, in the future, looking for a way to bring our printing home. We just aren't yet sure when or how that will happen. In the last couple years, Lexa and I have had short stories published in anthologies available from Lit 'n' Laughter. These are available by following the link provided. (Also, there are some very good books published by the authors of Lit 'n' Laughter.) Lastly, we will be participating in Camp Nanowrimo once again. More information on that can be found at nanowrimo.org When we posted some updates and such on our Facebook page, apparently we neglected to post them here. So...
