Those who have been paying attention may have noticed it's been a while since we listed a book giveaway on Goodreads for a new release. This isn't because we don't want to give books away. More that it feels like throwing our money into a black hole. While people do mark the book as 'to read', that's where it ends.
And the books given away aren't generating reviews. Since the point of the giveaway is to get the books into the hands of people to read and review, the lack of reviews means no return on investment for us.
Small publishers (like HWB) and independent authors are dependent on ratings and reviews posted on sites like Amazon and Goodreads. If you read our work, we really do need you to rate and review it. We need you to tell your friends and family about it. That's how word about our work spreads and enables us to continue writing and publishing.
